PHOTOGRAPHICAL IMAGERY BY PAULA

Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado instilled a deep appreciation and love of the great outdoors. After moving to Lamoille, Nevada near the Ruby Mountains my life long interest in photography was renewed. I describe my schooling and style of photography as "flying by the seat of my pants on a wing and a prayer".

My passion for traipsing the rugged mountains and the vast wide open spaces with my camera is the spark that has ignited my desire once again to capture life as it comes, one moment at a time. I thank God everyday for his gifts.

RagBag Medley : Traipsing the outdoors there's always that odd subject that catches your eye for one reason or another.
That's what I lovingly call my RagBag Medley...odds and ends, this and that...a hodgepodge of 'stuff'.

Tuscarora, Nevada - A Ghost Town : Tuscarora, Nevada...classified as a ghost town although there are a few people still living there. It's most productive years were from 1870 to 1890 when its mines produced $40,000,000 in silver. The town's population was about four thousand people, split almost equally between whites and Chinese. The Chinese came to build the railroad and stayed to operate opium dens, brothels and gambling houses.
It now inhabits a hardy few even through the winter months and is, in all sense of the word, colorful . . . to say the least.

Bodie, A Ghost Town : As one little girl, whose family was taking her to the remote and infamous town of Bodie, wrote in her diary: "Good-bye God, I'm going to Bodie".
Gold was discovered in Bodie, California (50 miles south of Lake Tahoe) in 1859. It became a boom town in 1877 and by 1879 boasted a population of about 10,000. It was second to none for wickedness, badmen and "the worst climate out of doors"! It's a town that's rich in history. It became a State Historic Park in 1962 for preservation...it's now said to be "in a state of arrested decay".
